Missouri Republican Party Chairman Ed Martin released the following statement on the beginning of the legislative session:
“Today, for the first time in our state’s history, veto-proof Republican majorities have been sworn in to both chambers of the Missouri General Assembly. Missouri voters have embraced our conservative principles and given Republicans a mandate to lead, and we will do so responsibly and with purpose. I look forward to working with Speaker Tim Jones and President Pro Tem Tom Dempsey as they lead these historic majorities in the service of our citizens—protecting Missourians from higher taxes, creating an economic environment that attracts new businesses, standing firm against the overreach of the federal government, and ensuring opportunity for all Missourians.”
