They really should have the theme to "Mission Impossible" playing in the background. It'll take a heck of lot more than buying a piece of the school in exchange for special favors to dig R8 out of the hole that CJ and his gal pal Angie dug for the rest of us to pay off. But the Rubber Stamp Club don't seem too concerned. They're only priority right at the moment is to preserve the status quo instead of admitting that things have gone terribly wrong.
You mean that job hasn't been filled yet? I can't imagine why with all those unemployed people out there that no one has jumped all over this deal. Must be something wrong.
The best way to dig R8 out of the hole would be to get rid of a bunch of ridiculous jobs and programs and restore common sense. We'll have to get rid of the current board for that to happen, but that's what it'll take. Up to my fellow voters to join me in sending a strong message--no more wasting of tax dollars allowed!!
Seems to me like there ought to be enough flunkies up there already to handle this. Maybe if the Board had been doing its job and maybe if CJ had been kept under control the community wouldn't be facing this unnecessary disaster. You all have taken money from people who couldn't afford to spare it and squandered it. And now you've got to squander some more on this silly job position. As long as I'm alive you'll not get any more support from me. What a pack of fools.
I am an alumni of Joplin Schools. I also am a retired teacher of 30 years with Joplin. I am very disgusted with the current administration and the board members. I used to be proud to be a teacher in Joplin! Now test scores are horribly behind many schools in the area, morale is at the lowest point, children are tested to the point that there is little time for learning. I personally will not contribute!! I also will not vote for the current board members and those hand picked by them! A change needs to happen. I want to be proud of Joplin R8 again! Please join me.
I'd be curious to hear what those at the Joplin Schools Foundation think about this competing school fundraising program. Do you think there's any chance that Huff has had any early discussions to make sure the two interests don't compete for the same dollars? Or maybe he's just railroading this idea through without any real thought. Yup.

No kidding! Stop wasting money R8! You're affecting my child's education!
There's surely at least one more teacher desperate to get out of those magical classrooms who can do this.
