Winter weather advisory in effect until noon for Joplin area

LIGHT SNOW TO IMPACT THE MONDAY MORNING COMMUTE...

.A QUICK MOVING UPPER LEVEL STORM SYSTEM WILL BRING A PERIOD OF
LIGHT SNOW TO EXTREME SOUTHEASTERN KANSAS AND MUCH OF THE
MISSOURI OZARKS THROUGH THE MORNING HOURS. SNOW ACCUMULATIONS
WILL GENERALLY RANGE FROM A TRACE UP TO 2 INCHES. TRAVEL IMPACTS
ARE EXPECTED WITH THE SNOW FALLING BEFORE AND DURING THE MORNING
COMMUTE TO WORK AND SCHOOL.

A WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY FOR SNOW REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL NOON
CST TODAY.

* SHORT TERM TRENDS...A NARROW BAND OF MODERATE SNOW WAS PUSHING
  THROUGH EXTREME SOUTHEAST KANSAS AND THE MISSOURI OZARKS THIS
  MORNING. THIS BAND HAS PRODUCED UP TO AN INCH OF SNOW SO FAR IN
  LOCATIONS WHERE THIS BAND HAS ALREADY MOVED THROUGH. THE HEAVIER
  SNOW BAND SHOULD QUICKLY PUSH THROUGH THE AREA THIS MORNING WITH
  LINGERING LIGHT SNOW OR FLURRIES DURING THE MID TO LATE MORNING.

* TIMING AND AREAS AFFECTED...AREAS GENERALLY SOUTH AND WEST OF
  AN OSCEOLA TO FORT LEONARD WOOD TO HOUSTON TO BRANSON LINE
  THROUGH NOON.

* SNOW ACCUMULATIONS...ACCUMULATIONS OF A TRACE TO 2 INCHES WILL
  BE POSSIBLE...WITH THE HIGHEST ACCUMULATIONS OVER FAR WESTERN
  MISSOURI AND EXTREME SOUTHEAST KANSAS.

* VISIBILITY...THE FALLING SNOW WILL REDUCE VISIBILITIES DOWN TO
  AROUND A MILE OR LESS AT TIMES.

* IMPACTS...ROADWAYS ACROSS THE REGION ARE EXPECTED TO BECOME
  SNOW COVERED AND SLIPPERY THROUGH THE MORNING HOURS INCLUDING
  THE MORNING COMMUTE TO WORK AND SCHOOL.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY FOR SNOW MEANS THAT PERIODS OF SNOW
WILL CAUSE PRIMARILY TRAVEL DIFFICULTIES. BE PREPARED FOR SNOW
COVERED ROADS AND LIMITED VISIBILITIES...AND USE CAUTION WHILE
DRIVING.
