Gov. Jay Nixon today signed six bills into law, including the Paperless Documents and Forms Act, which will improve government efficiency through increased use of electronic forms. Under House Bill 1081, documents and forms provided to the public by the Department of Revenue will be available in an electronic format online and able to be submitted electronically to the department.
“Since 2009, we have already made tremendous progress in providing information and forms online to Missourians,” Gov. Nixon said. “This bill continues that progress in making government services as efficient and accessible as possible.”
In addition, Gov. Nixon also signed into law:
- House Bill 1090, which deals with the ability of certain Department of Corrections officers to use compensatory time;
- House Bill 1218, which addresses liens for assessments on condominiums;
- House Bill 1523, which deals with the management of trusts and funds;
- House Bill 1602, which authorizes the conveyance of certain state property to the city of Farmington; and
- House Bill 1835, which specifies that those persons who have been medically deemed to have no usable vision are exempt from the five-year re-examination requirement in order to continue to be eligible to receive blind pension benefits.
