Wood is charged with murder, armed criminal action, kidnapping, rape, and sodomy in connection with the February 18 death of Hailey Owens, 10, Springfield.
Earlier this morning, Greene County Prosecuting Attorney Dan Patterson filed a notice of intent to seek the death penalty.
A pre-trial conference is scheduled for August 26.
