Accused child killer Bobby Bourne will wear prison clothes to Thursday hearing

When a motion hearing is held for accused child killer Bobby Bourne, 2 p.m. Thursday in Barton County Circuit Court, he will wear prison clothes and be in shackles.

Judge James Kelso Journey overruled a motion from Bourne's attorney, Thomas Jacquinot, that Bourne be allowed to wear street clothes and not have to wear shackles for Thursday's hearing. The judge said the decision could be revisited for future hearings.

Bourne, 35, Lockwood, faces charges of first degree murder, kidnapping, and statutory rape in connection with the August 19 death of 12-year-old Adriaunna Horton of Golden City.

Barton County Prosecuting Attorney Steven Kaderly is seeking the death penalty. Bourne is represented by Jacquinot and Patrick Berrigan public defenders who specialize in capital cases.

Bourne is currently serving a 15-year sentence, which was handed down in Cedar County after he admitted he had violated his probation by not attending a court-ordered Batterer Intervention Program.

As noted earlier in the Turner Report, Bourne was on probation for charges of domestic assault, assault on a law enforcement officer, and resisting arrest when Adriaunna Horton was raped and murdered..

As noted in the August 22 Turner Report, Bourne remained free even after he was arrested in Dade County after being charged with assault on an underage girl and assaulting the girl's mother.

Strong work Dade County. That dead little girl should weigh heavily on the heart of whoever let this monster walk free.
