Video- NEA leader: Let's take back our public schools

I couldn't agree more with this video. So much time is wasted on testing, pretesting, post-testing, preparing for testing, analyzing data from testing,etc... that there is very little teaching anymore. So much instructional time is lost so that we can constantly check "progress". Students grow apathetic. How do you convince a student that it is sooooo important to do well on their 18th test of the quarter?
My 7 year old Grandson got so stressed by testing last week that he got a headache and vomited and had to go home from school. He's 7 for goodness sake!
