I did not check back with online court records after my initial post this morning that revealed that three Joplin residents' petition for a writ of mandamus against the Jasper County Commission had been transferred to Judge John Nicholas.
Nicholas, who was the longtime attorney for the Joplin R-8 Board of Education recused himself because of the conflict of interest. Judge Stephen Carlton will hear the case.
(While I have left the Nicholas post up, it now includes a message that Nicholas has recused himself. I should have checked with the online records before I published the post.)
