Kansas Gov. Laura Kelly signed an executive order today expanding the state's order to limit gatherings to no more than 10 people to include church services and funeral.
Noting that it was one of the most difficult decision she has had to make, Kelly explained her rationale for pulling the trigger on the ban.
"At least three instances of COVID-19, community spread were found to be connected to religious gatherings."
That information, as well as the knowledge that experts think the highest rate of infection is still a few weeks away made up Kelly's mind.
The governor said 900 COVID-19 cases had been confirmed in Kansas from 57 of the state's 105 counties.
At this point, 27 deaths have been reported.
