Third young Webb City resident tests positive for COVID-19, 10 overall in Jasper County

A third younger person from Webb City has contracted the coronavirus.

The latest confirmed case, Jasper County's 10th,  is a person in the 20s age range from Webb City.

The two previous Webb City residents who tested positive were in their teens.

All three cases were travel related.

The Jasper County Health Department issued the following news release:

The Jasper County Health Department announces its 10th confirmed case of COVID-19 in Jasper County.

To protect the patients's right to privacy, identifying information will not be provided.









As part of the regular practice of disease investigation, the Jasper County Health Department will be notifying people who have had contact with the patient. This individual is a person in their 20s who resides in the Webb City area. This is a travel-related exposure.

Jasper County Health Department staff is working with the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services to determine any close conacts of this individual who were possibly exposed. If exposed, health officials will provide guidance to these individuals and monitor them closely for the development of symptoms.

Jasper County Health Department will no longer be generating press releases on each new COVID-19 case. Instead, we will do a weekly update which will include new cases.
