Thirty-six COVID-19 deaths reported in Missouri, case number tops 10,000

Thirty-six Missouri residents died from COVID-19 during a 24-hour period, according to statistics released this afternoon by the Department of Health and Senior Services.

Of the 36, 17 were recorded in St. Charles County bringing the total to 50, the third highest in the state behind St. Louis County, which has had 278 deaths, including 12 during the reporting period and 91 in St. Louis, with three added to its count.

Kansas City has had 16 deaths, Jackson County and Franklin County 14 apiece and Jefferson County 10.

Eighty-eight new coronavirus cases were confirmed, increasing the state's number to 10,006.
