Bond denied- Judge rejects proposal to have Joplin man charged with four felony child abuse counts live with his dad

During a hearing this morning in Jasper County Circuit Court, Judge Joseph Hensley denied a bond reduction for a Joplin man facing four felony child abuse charges.

Brian O'Grodnick, 22, is accused of abusing two-year-old Jameson Long four times between April 20 and May 1, with the abuse including slapping, choking and punching the child. The probable cause statement said O'Grodnick had videos of the abuse on his phone.

Jameson Long died June 2 at a Kansas City hospital where he was taken after first responders found him unresponsive and not breathing May 31. The charges against O'Grodnick do not appear to be related to the immediate event leading to the boy's death.

In his motion for bond reduction, public defender Craig Lowe noted that the charges are only allegations, his client has a job and  "the defendant will live with his father if he is released, no children live in the household."

O'Grodnick's next hearing is scheduled for 10 a.m. July 30.

Bond denied? The story says bond reduction denied. So he still has bond set, the judge just said no you can't get a cheaper bond. Very confusing Randy.
