Newton County COVID-19 count up to 311 as 38 added in last 24 hours, Neosho hit hard

The number of COVID-19 cases in Newton County increased to 313 today, an increase of 34 in the past 24 hours, according to statistics released this afternoon by the Newton County Health Department.

In the past six days, the county has confirmed 197 coronavirus cases.

The majority of the cases are inside the Neosho city limits, the news release said.









"It is our recommendation that people avoid large group gatherings, especially if you are at high risk for severe disease

"If you are in public, please practice social distancing and please wear facial covering such as a mask or bandana. Do not leave your house if you are sick."

Out of the 313 cases, 237 are in isolation. An additional 366 people are under quarantine and the health department is following 202 people.

One hundred sixty-four have been released from quarantine, while 74 cases have been released from isolation.
