Possible COVID-19 exposure for four hours reported at Neosho Municipal Pool

(From the Newton County Health Department)

The Newton County Health Department in cooperation with the Neosho Family YMCA would like to announce a possible risk exposure of COVID-19 concerning the Neosho City Pool

On Sunday, June 14, 2020, an individual who has since tested positive for COVID-19 was at the pool from approximately 12:30 to 4:30 p.m.

This individual was not showing symptoms of illness on Sunday, but this day would have been during the infectious period.

The Newton County Health Department does feel that any exposure or transmission is very low at this time, but wanted individuals that may have been at the pool to be aware.

Any time there is a possible exposure, we ask that a person monitor themselves for any signs/symptoms of illness for 14 days past exposure.

The Neosho Family YMCA has been very cooperative and we have been working together to ensure that proper disinfection and sanitation has taken place. The pool staff continually takes the necessary precautions daily to ensure that the pool is clean and safe for the public to use.

If you feel that you have any signs or symptoms of illness, please contact your provider for evaluation and follow up testing.
