Jasper County COVID-19 outbreak continues with 39 cases confirmed in 24 hours, 862 under quarantine

The Carthage area continued to be the hardest hit as Jasper County reported Friday that an additional 39 COVID cases had been confirmed.

The county's total stands at 298, according to a Jasper County Health Department news release. The new cases followed 24 reported the previous day and 100 reported over the past weekend.

The statistics are for the entire county with the exception of the City of Joplin.








The news release said 249 cases are under isolation with several being hospitalized, though no specific number was provided.

"In addition we have a total of 862 people who have been placed under quarantine, with 711 people we are currently monitoring."

The majority of the cases continue to be in the Carthage area, the news release said.
