Carthage R-9 closes athletic facilities after student-athletes have contact with someone with COVID-19

Although I do not want to be an alarmist, I also do not want to understate our present situation.

Two student athletes had contact earlier in the week with a community member who recently tested positive for COVID-19. 

Neither student athlete has tested positive at this point. However, we are taking extra precautions by shutting down the Tiger Activity Center, high school gyms and weight room, and field house Monday, June 8, as both student athletes were in those facilities this week. 

Even though we already cleaned the previously mentioned areas yesterday and are following all protocols, and recommended guidelines, we will sanitize the areas again. 

Please remember no student athletes have tested positive. I will update everyone, as more information is available.
