Forty-six Joplin residents under quarantine due to COVID-19

The City of Joplin had two confirmed cases of COVID-19 reported Tuesday and another one today bringing the total up to 15.

"We have 46 under quarantine," Joplin Health Department Director Dan Pekarek said during the weekly city briefing this morning.

Pekarek said the increase in the number of local cases was to be expected as the city reopened and that the department is monitoring not only the city, but what is taking place in area communities.

At the time of the press conference, the city had only one coronavirus case under isolation.

Rumor has it, it's a server at Texas Roadhouse so it should be A LOT more under quarantine. EVERY employe . EVERY person that ate there over the last few weeks. EVERY person those people have been in contact with. Including other restaurant workers families, where ever else those guests have dined, shopped, gone to church, etc. over the last 2 weeks. That's a true chain of contact quarantine. BUT NOOOO,
everyone was in a hurry to open up churches, restaurants, etc.

Don’t be a puppet!! It is a virus, it isn’t going anywhere! Exposure is the best case scenario in building immunity!

It's a virus that gets into the blood causing clotting, brain causing coma, heart causing heart attacks, kidneys causing them to shut down and inflammation. You wake up "don't be a puppet"
