The initial arraignment or Brian O'Grodnick, 22, Joplin, charged with four counts of felony child abuse, is scheduled for 12 noon today in Jasper County Circuit Court before Judge Joseph Hensley.
O'Grodnick, who is being held without bond in the Jasper County Jail, was charged as a result of a Joplin Police Department investigation into abuse that was severe enough to require two-year-old Jameson Long to be airlifted to a Kansas City hospital where he died Wednesday.
The four counts of child abuse stem from videos police uncovered on O'Grodnick's cell phone showing him slapping, punching and choking the two-year-old, according to the probable cause statement.
The four incidents described in the probable cause statement occurred April 21, April 22 (two incidents) and May 1.
