The boy's aunt announced the passing on Facebook earlier this evening and the cries for "Justice for Jameson" have been growing on social media.
The man accused of committing the abuse, Brian O'Grodnick, 22, Joplin is being held without bond. Online court records do not indicate when his first court appearance will be.
The probable cause statement alleges O'Grodnick slapped, choked and punched Jamison and made videos of the abuse.
The information from the probable cause statement is printed below:
On April 20, 2020, O'Grodnick pinches the face of (the child) forcing the corners of his mouth to touch then shoves him by his face.
On April 21, 2020, O'Grodnick again pinches (the child's) face while forcing him to make statements then slaps him in the face.
On April 22, 2020, O'Grodnick chokes (the child) with one hand around his throat while he is made to beg for water.
Also on April 22, 2020, O'Grodnick puts his fist up to (the child's) face lightly two times then on the third time he punches (the child) in the face.
On May 1, 2020, O'Grodnick grabs (the child) by the hair and asks (him) "do you love me" then shoves him.
All of these incidents were discovered on videos on O'Grodnick's cell phone. O'Grodnick admitted to making the videos and performing the abuse against (the child) under Miranda.
In the videos, (the child) is observed to have multiple bruises and scratches on his face and chin and is crying and shaking.
The investigation that led to O'Grodnick's arrest began after officers responded to a call to the apartment at 1900 E. 8th Sunday morning.
The Joplin Police Department issued the following news release Monday morning:
On May 31st, 2020 at approximately 9:32 A.M. Officers with the Joplin Police Department were dispatched to the 1900 block of East 8th St. for a 2-year-old male child not conscious and not breathing.
Responding officers started life saving measures upon arrival. The child was transported to a local hospital where he was later transported to Kansas City, MO for treatment.

I think the mother should be charged with neglect, endangering the welfare of a child, abuse as well ... for a mother to let ANYONE harm their child makes her as guilty as the man who murdered the child- she's an accessrory to murder...

I'm not saying I haven't sinned but I damn sure know I haven't hurt a child nor sit by while someone else hurt a child. Children are innocent and anybody that violates their innocents are evil people. She deserves to mourn for the rest of her life if she sit by and allowed this to happen. I hope she suffers. So Opiner you don't think he deserves justice? He didn't get justice or protection here on earth, that's for sure. There is no way, had anyone been paying attention to him, his terror of his torturer gone unnoticed. Yes she is mourning, but than does not out rank getting justice for Jameson. His mother did not protect him and, in my opinion, she's got some 'splainin' to do. Far too many mothers putting their boyfriends before their kids.
I just don't understand how this happened and no one knew about it like come on... I hope other people get charged this is just upsetting and just pisses me off when they say oh my sweet boy but come on where was everyone else?

Why wasn't he treated for mental issues before this guy had a child, where was the mother and family... Heck where were the police and mainly DFS (DHS in other areas) when this happened 😡 This should have NEVER happened. Poor baby... I saw a few pictures with the mother sad and distraught.. I DK the poor boy passed until after reading this and a more thorough detail to the story here. When that guy goes to jail you know what happens to a guy that does this to a child? You should ask my niece's exman Earl Clark.. first week they had to move him to solitary confinement for his own safety. I wish I could pay off a guard to keep him out of solitary and let this POS be beat daily. And the monster who did this to this child was not his father. It was the mother’s boyfriend, who she was not with for long. It’s disgusting that this sweet baby had a loving, normal life and then suddenly the devil entered his life and he was beaten and punched and could not possibly understand what was happening. I’ve never read a more disgusting story of child abuse. If the mother truly didn’t know, she’s ignorant. If she even had an inkling of an idea this was going on, she should be jailed as well. At 2 years old, a child can communicate well enough to let his mother know what was happening and if she chose not to believe him, she’ll have to live with knowing the details of her sons torture for the rest of her life, knowing she could have stopped it. The biological father called CPS because he knew the baby was being abused. They did nothing. I think cases like this, the other parent should be awarded full custody until there is a complete, THOROUGH investigation and no proof is found...
Sorry but somebody felled this child and his mother. Not my problem seems to be the world's view about everything. If it doesn't effect your little perfect life it's not my business. Wrong now we have a funeral and a mother going through a mental brake down and still she is getting any support. God help us. I find it deeply disgusting that as a child I am having to grow up in a world not only racist and unfair but murderous too. I have joined this website to find out information about Joplin MO tornado for a geography project, and while attempting to acheive information find this article of a man beating a defenceless child to *his death*
I am currentely 12 years old and until know I was generally oblivious to the outside worlds and its problems, but a bit before my twelth birthday I have found that it is not possible anymore. I am constantely met with horrible things that happen. This mother I beleive that could have done better with her child's looking after, as this clearly wouldn't have happened if she had kept a sharp eye. But to everyone that has said that they hope this haunts her for the rest of her life, I severely disagree. She may have done wrong, but we never know what could have been going on during the time that the poor child was being cruelly beaten to his death. I am not saying that we should instantly forgive this woman for the big mistake she did, but that what I think we *should* do is try to learn from this. I know this not possible as we are of course humans, and learning from a mistakes is something we are clearly too lazy to do, but we can atleast keep this as a tip to look out for any children under our care

She's too busy pushing out babies. She has a little girl that's 2 years old I think and I know for a fact that she's around about 3 months pregnant now or so she claims. She seems to be pregnant every time they have a court date set up.
