The bond hearing for alleged Third Thursday kidnapper Johnny Arehart, 28, originally scheduled for this morning, has been moved to 10 a.m. June 8 in Jasper County Circuit Court. The preliminary hearing will be held the same day.
Online court records indicate the change was made because the public defender who will represent Arehart just entered the case.
According to a news release from the Joplin Police Department, the alleged kidnapping took place at 3rd and Main with Arehart grabbing the child and attempting to carry her away. As the child's mother pursued them, other Third Thursday attendees joined the pursuit, stopped them and rescued the child who appeared unharmed.
