Thorne: Shooting happened on church's 141st anniversary

Today's shooting of three members of a Micronesian church following afternoon services at the First Congregational Church of Neosho, came on the 141st anniversary of the church, pastor Tom Thorne told John Ford of the Neosho Daily News.
The church was allowing the Micronesian congregation to use its building until it could find a church of its own.
The Daily has used the blanket approach that a small town newspaper has to employ to be able to offer coverage of a major event in its own backyard. So far, I have seen bylines from Ford, who is the Daily's managing editor, Publisher Rick Rogers, reporter Todd Higdon, and John Hacker of The Carthage Press. Both the Daily and The Press are owned by GateHouse Media.
