Hearing set for Bobby Bourne request for change of venue

A 9 a.m. April 28 meeting will be held in Newton County Circuit Court in Neosho to determine if accused child killer Bobby Dale Bourne will receive a change of venue. The meeting will be held in Neosho because that is the home location of the trial judge, Timothy Perigo.

Bourne, 35, Lockwood, is charged with first degree murder, kidnapping, and statutory rape in connection with the August 19 death of 12-year-old Adriaunna Horton of Golden City.

Barton County Prosecuting Attorney Steven Kaderly announced earlier this year he is seeking the death penalty for Bourne, who is now represented by Thomas Jaquinot, a public defender who specializes in death penalty cases.

.Bourne is serving a 15-year prison sentence, which was handed down by a Cedar County judge after Bourne admitted he had violated his probation by not attending a court-ordered Batterer Intervention Program.
