Reader: C. J. Huff is a good man and deserves better than Joplin

One of the things that most irritates me is the reader who accuses me of not printing comments that do not agree with my way of thinking.

In fact, over the years I have probably printed a few thousand comments that disagreed me and many of them strongly.

I put on the screening function to prevent needless obscenity, racist comments which include slurs, libelous comments, and more often than anything else, spam.

The latest message of that sort came through a few moments ago in defense of Joplin R-8 Superintendent C. J. Huff. It is printed with a recent post about the lawsuit against the R-8 District and Mike Johnson, but in case you don't go back to that post, here is the comment in its entirety:

Turner Report, I noticed you use a moderator function to screen all your posts - nothing gets posted unless you SCREEN it first...hmmm, seems like you have the ability to keep out any comments contrary to your negative rants and your "selective few" you want to post.

So be an equal opportunity web poster - I know Dr. Huff - one of the best administrators I have met. To libel and accuse and host a site with a myriad of posts from the irrational few shows your character.

Personnel records are private - he couldn't LEGALLY tell you the rest of the story or defend himself unless he wished to be sued.

Grow up and all of you posting to this site grow up too; hateful hateful people. Really? CJ Huff is immoral? Underhanded? a "Thug" abusing his power? -- not a chance. CJ has been and always will be a servant leader - doing what is right even when the hateful, libelous few

DON'T APPRECIATE SOMEONE WORKING HARD EVERYDAY FOR THE SCHOOL DISTRICT.

And no, I'm not a relative, or his mom or dad -- the time is always right to do what is RIGHT, even when you aren't popular. Did any of you posting here EVER consider what it means to BE a leader? It means you have to make TOUGH decisions and you CAN'T please everyone - doing what is RIGHT means you make enemies; you all represent the hateful minority.

No understanding of what it means to lead, no understanding of what really goes on (you only get one side) and NO UNDERSTANDING of how GREAT you have it with a leader like CJ. YOU ALL do not deserve him; I hope he lands in a bigger better district that appreciates him.

I hope he lands in a bigger and better district soon, too, since he's for sure destroyed this one. There is sufficient data to prove that, should the poor, misguided soul want to quit drinking Huff's beverage of choice long enough to go check it out.
Huff isn't the only leader around here. They all have to make difficult choices that make them unpopular from time to time. But no other leader is so disdained as Huff, and for good reason. There is ample evidence to demonstrate his lack of character, vision, leadership ability, and stability. Just go to the DESE website and start researching Joplin Schools and compare this district to those you think are "better," and then ask yourself why they are "better." It is more than likely due to their leadership team.

I know you print all comments - whether they agree with you or not! You have printed every single one of mine and I have never agreed with you about Joplin R-8!

This is so touching. Gosh, gee whiz. We are all just not grown ups yet and therefore can't realize that our friends have been unjustly fired, our bank accounts are empty, our children are uneducated, and our taxes are wasted. What a fool. Or tool. Hard to say which.

I've read many very disgusting, narrow minded, prejudiced, sexist, hateful, anti-Turner comments posted on the Report. The person here is a Huff sycophant who has something to gain by her remarks--she's pro-Huff because she's anti-Turner, not because she has anything truly meaningful to say about Huff. If that were the case, she'd use some facts instead of CAPITALIZATION to try to impress us.

I wonder what this person has gotten from CJ. A job? Vehicle? House? That's a lot of devotion from someone who isn't a relative--or mom or dad--who are relatives, by the way, genius.

This commenter apparently bows down and worships with the cultists of servant leadership.

"doing what is right even when the hateful, libelous few

DON'T APPRECIATE SOMEONE WORKING HARD EVERYDAY FOR THE SCHOOL DISTRICT."

Kiss my asterisk!

I think C.J. himself wrote it. Who else could love and admire himself as much as he does. I hope he finds another job somewhere else, because their lose would be our gain.

So far his efforts to land in bigger and better districts have not gone well, and for that, my district is profoundly relieved.

Maybe the governor will make up a job for him just like he did for Besendorfer.
