In his latest column, Hacker says the Daily will begin featuring some coverage of state legislative news and how it affects Joplin residents:
For example, for the next few months, we will delve into the world of state politics, and tell you how those decisions made in Jefferson City will impact your life and your pocket book.
While the Daily did not make quite the impact many of its readers had hoped it would, it has shown signs of promise and has broken some big stories during its first year. Hopefully, the second year will be even better. The best thing for Joplin readers is to have more good outlets for local news.

What has plagued the Daily as of late is sloppy editing. As the paper would say, "Whose minding the store?"
I agree with the last post, and I love the wordplay he or she uses. "Whose" instead of "who's." The former is a possessive pronoun. The latter is a contraction for "who is."
As the Daily would say "Ewe got it write."
Today's sports headline in the Daily:
Eagles finishes with a win
Hacker's column opens:
The old clich/, "What a difference a year makes,"
What's a clich/?
It's evident from these posts that John Hacker should have taken my Copy Editing class while a student at Missouri Southern. (It's not too late, John. You could take Copy Editing from T.R. Hanrahan this semester.)
So evidently a person of West African origin from the Ghana or Togo region "got it right." Yes, as John Hacker said, "20 years later it doesn't get any better". John, after copyediting, I'll edit for you.
Someone needs to.
You can all just bite me.
