Alan Cavanna, KODE's go-to reporter during his time in the Joplin market, signed on with WSOC-TV in Charlotte, N. C. in June, leaving the Evansville, Ind. market.
From the Channel 9 website:
Before Charlotte, he worked in Evansville, IN and Joplin, MO. During that time he covered plenty of tornadoes, floods and even an earthquake. His most memorable assignments involve traveling. Alan covered the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina and flew to Savannah, GA when Indiana's National Guard was deployed.
He's also traveled to cover the Daytona 500 and Brickyard 400.
Originally from Connecticut, Alan grew up working on his aunt and uncle's fruit farm. He also raced cars and is a life-long NASCAR fan, and hopes to fit right in here in Charlotte.
Alan is a proud graduate of Syracuse University with a degree in Broadcast Journalism. You can usually catch him watching racing or listening to Aerosmith.
