The City of Joplin is pleased to announce that the Board of Trustees of the Joplin Tornado First Response Fund, established to distribute donations made on behalf of the City of Joplin in the wake of the May 22, 2011 tornado, is now soliciting grant requests.
The Board of Trustees will award grants to charitable organizations and governmental entities whose proposed uses of the funds include:
1. Relief to tornado victims
2. Rebuilding and restoring infrastructure
3. Enhancing disaster preparedness through improved warning and safety measures.

Applicants may seek funding for multiple projects. Applications are due November 16, 2012 by 11 a.m. Incomplete or late submission will not be accepted.
