Hartzler offers Christmas greetings

(From Fourth District Congresswoman Vicky Hartzler)

“As families gather to celebrate Christmas it is comforting – as Christians - to be able to step back from the day to day trials and tribulations to reflect on what matters most in life. And, while family and friends are so much a special part of our celebrations - first and foremost we focus on the birth of our Savior, Jesus Christ.

So many us are familiar with Luke’s account of how the birth of Christ was announced to shepherds in the field by an angel of the Lord:

‘And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people.
For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, which is Christ the Lord.’

As we gather with our families and pray for our men and women in uniform and for the families of our fellow Americans who have been victims of recent acts of violence in Connecticut and elsewhere, we are reminded that the light Jesus brought to the world is needed now more than ever.

As you gather with loved ones this holiday season, I pray you allow His light to shine upon you.

I wish each of you the merriest of Christmases.”
