Joplin City Council to Springfield: We don't want your prisoners

The Joplin City Council rejected a proposal to accept Springfield municipal prisoners for $50 a day with a maximum of $100,000

Council members indicated they had heard from the public, which was concerned about the possibility that prisoners would remain in Joplin after they were released and they shared those concerns.

Last week, before the Springfield City Council approved the plan, Springfield businessman Tim Havens spoke out against the proposal.

This will leave the homeless, the indigent, possibly the mentally ill people on the streets of Joplin.
Is this moral? Do we not have concern for Joplin people?
