Murder trial to begin for Carthage man who allegedly shot neighbor, bragged "I got him; I shot him in the belly"

The first degree murder trial of a Carthage man for allegedly shooting and killing his next door neighbor May 16, 2016 is scheduled to begin Monday, January 13, in Jasper County Circuit Court with Judge David Mouton presiding.

The trial of Ricky L. Marchbanks, 62, who is also charged with armed criminal action, is scheduled to last five days, according to online court records.

Motions will be heard Monday.

According to the probable cause statement, a witness, who was riding with Marchbanks in his pickup said they were pulling out of the driveway and had just begun driving down the road when Marchbanks' neighbor, Jeremy D. Neeper, 38, who was standing in his front yard at 1032 Valley, began yelling at him.

Marchbanks stopped the truck, climbed out of it with a rifle, fired a shot, then got back in the truck, saying, "I got him. I shot him in the belly."

Emergency responders were unable to save Neeper.

The case has been delayed while Marchbanks was undergoing mental evaluations.

About time this murderer goes to trial. Praying for the death penalty. Jeremy didn't deserve to be shot.

For some reason republicans think guns help keep us safe. At the same time they generally resist taking them away from nutters.

Again - This is not about Republicans vs Democrats - this is about a Tragic Incident - where a Person Lost their Life - because an Idiot did a Terrible Thing and Killed another Person - Hopefully he will find out about how our Justice System Works and Given the "Death Penalty", for his actions and not try to use some excuse or have some "Liberal Jury", try to Rehabilitate him.

All Individuals have to be Accountable for their Actions - - Again - Not about being Republican or Democrat - -

Only a republican would be able to claim that every time a nutter uses his or her gun to kill someone that it's not fair to talk about republicans and their weapon fetishing and allowing everyone including the nutters to have weapons and keep weapons and use weapons.

Just wait until people are doing something that the republicans don't like and then in about 30 seconds they get to squalling. That's when their bs hypocrisy about person freedoms and responsibilities ends and the law passing and court rigging begins!
