COVID-19 claimed the life of 12 Missourians in the last 24 hours, with 10 of those who died due to the virus coming from. St. Louis County, according to statistics released about an hour ago by the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services.

The death toll for Missouri stands at 108 with 42 of those coming from St. Louis County, followed by 14 from St. Louis City, 10 from St. Charles County and seven apiece from Kansas City and Greene County.

No new COVID-19 cases were reported in Joplin area counties with 13 from Jasper County (excluding those within the Joplin city limits), eight from Newton County, three from McDonald County and none from Barton County.

For some reason, the City of Joplin's total on the statistics is at four, though Joplin reported its fourth and fifth cases Friday.
