The award is presented annually to the superintendents who are in their second and third years, was scheduled to be presented to Steward, who is in his third year at superintendent at Marshfield, at the Missouri School Administrators Award Banquet, but that event was canceled due to COVID-19.
“My approach to leadership is that I don’t have all the answers. I have to rely on other people,” said Steward, 48. “I’ve been blessed with a great team, everywhere I’ve been, and here in Marshfield is no different.”
Steward's first teaching job was in Lamar, where he taught math and coached football, basketball and baseball. He was Monett High School principal for 13 years.
