Missouri reports 17 COVID-19 deaths in past 24 hours, confirmed cases up in Joplin, Jasper, Newton counties

The COVID-19 death toll in Missouri stands at 96, an increase of 17 over the 24 hours, according to statistics released this afternoon by the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services.

Thirty-six deaths have been reported in the past 24 hours.







Thirty-two of those deaths have been in St. Louis County, followed by 14 in St. Louis City, 10 in St. Charles County and seven in Kansas City and Greene County.

A total of 3,799 COVID-19 cases have been confirmed in the state, with 260 recorded in the past 24 hours.

In the Joplin area, the state has five COVID-19 cases for the City of Joplin, up from three Thursday, 13 in Jasper County, an increase of two, none in Barton County and three in McDonald County.

McDonald County's total is actually one less than Thursday when the state posted an incorrect total.
