Barton County's COVID-19 total, which stood at zero only a few days ago, shot up to seven today with the announcement of five confirmed cases.
The five are all members of the family of the second person to be diagnosed, according to a news released issued this afternoon by the Barton County Health Department.
The family members were in the Lamar Walmart store from 6 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, the news release said.
"If you were in the store during that time, you are asked to monitor your symptoms. You are advised to call your healthcare provider if symptoms develop. This is considered to be a low risk exposure."
The family members are quarantined and the Health Department is monitoring them, the release said.
