Billy Long goes on tweet storm, backing Trump election conspiracy theories

Less than 15 minutes ago (it's 1:44 a.m. Friday), Seventh District Congressman Billy Long tweeted his support of President Donald Trump, coming only a short time after the President tweeted an after-midnight message claiming he would be winning if only "LEGAL VOTES" ( his capital letters, not mine) were counted.
#IStandWithTrump He had his head held under water for 3+ years. They said women would abandon him (they didn’t) they said Blacks and Hispanics wouldn’t back him (they did in record numbers.) He’s rebuilt a floundering #Republican party. Why are not more of my colleagues helping?
The Congressman did not explain how Trump was able to keep his hair that way with his head held under water, but let's not quibble.

The tweet was just the latest in a series of tweets and retweets Long has been making as the countdown rolls on toward former Vice President Joe Biden reaching 270 electoral votes and becoming president-elect.

Long retweeted "Trump's Black Grandson," who said, "We will not concede a stolen election. Who's with me?"

Before that, it was a retweet of "Rose Rossi" who linked to the ultra right wing and seldom accurate Gateway Pundit breathlessly reporting the story of a woman referred to as "a ballot counter" who claimed to have seen 130,000 ballots, all for Joe Biden arriving in three vehicles in Detroit in the middle of the night.

Three hours ago, Long retweeted another conspiratorial website, Breaking 911, telling the story of a U. S. postal worker who was supposedly caught at the Canadian border with a trunk full of ballots (which has to be tough on the digestive system.)

(Update: Apparently, that last one was real. Even Breaking 911 can get one right every once in a while. There's no indication of how the votes were distributed in those ballots.)

That retweet came just a few hours after Long retweeted another story from the same website, revealing that a criminal referral had been made to Attorney General Bill Barr about 3,062 cases of ballot fraud.

Less than an hour ago, Long took a stab at what he apparently thought was humor, tweeting the following in response to a remark by his former Congressional colleague Jason Chaffetz, now a Fox News commentator:

Jason is Putin actually stepping down to join Biden’s Cabinet? If it’s actually for Heath reasons what do you bet Putin comes to the U.S. to seek treatment? I heard Nikita Khrushchev is the heir apparent - he voted in Wisconsin this year, and Georgia and Arizona and Pennsylvania

Seems like Billy wants to wear his Trumpstank proudly.

It is central element to Trumpism to tell the targets of aggression that they are the authors of the aggression against them. Or to put it more crudely, “The b$^%h brought it on herself.” It is a model all his enablers have embraced.

Missouri Sen. Roy Blunt, a member of the Senate GOP leadership, said President Trump has a right to want to make sure all legal votes are counted. However, he warned the President needs to be consistent:
"“You can't stop the count in one state and decide you want the count to continue in another state. That might be how you'd like to see the system work, but that's not how the system works.” "

Blunt, who as Rules Committee chairman is heavily involved in inaugural planning, said he expects the election outcome to be concluded in the next 10 days or so.

“Part of the obligation of leadership is you should always have in your mind how do I leave,” he said.

“Win or lose, both candidates should have been thinking about transition now for some time. And we will have a transition. And I think this will all be settled within the next 10 days or so.”Sen. Roy Blunt, who as Rules Committee chairman is heavily involved in inaugural planning, said today that he expects the election outcome to be concluded in the next 10 days or so.
