Joplin City Council sets special meeting to give emergency approval to 32nd Street TIF plan


JOPLIN CITY COUNCIL SPECIAL MEETING NOTICE 
MONDAY, DECEMBER 28, 2020 6:00 P.M. 
5TH FLOOR COUNCIL CHAMBERS 602 S. MAIN ST.

Notice is hereby given that the City Council of the City of Joplin, Missouri, will conduct a Special Meeting at 6:00 p.m. on Monday, December 28, 2020, at Joplin City Hall, 5 th Floor Council Chambers, 602 S. Main Street for the purpose of discussing the 32nd Street Place Redevelopment Plan and Projects.

1.COUNCIL BILL NO. 2020-533 - AN ORDINANCE approving the 32nd Street Place Tax Increment Financing Redevelopment Plan and Projects; establishing a redevelopment area and redevelopment project areas; designating Woodsonia Joplin, LLC, as the developer of Redevelopment Projects 1A, 1B, 1C, 2A, 2B, 3, 4, and 5; approving a Tax Increment Financing Contract between the City of Joplin, Missouri, Menard, Inc., and Woodsonia Joplin, LLC; authorizing the City Manager to execute the Contract on behalf of the City of Joplin; and containing an emergency clause. 

2.COUNCIL BILL NO. 2020-534 - AN ORDINANCE approving a Cooperative Agreement among the City of Joplin, Missouri, the 32nd Street Place Community Improvement District, and Woodsonia Joplin, LLC; authorizing the City Manager to execute said Agreement on behalf of the City of Joplin; and containing an emergency clause.

More TIFS!!!
I'm tired of hearing about not having enough money for schools or anything else when our counsel just keeps on giving money away through TIFS.
If a developer doesn't have the funds to pay for the development then he shouldn't be doing that. Tax payers pay double this way--extra tax to the new store and increased taxes because they couldn't collect enough.
NO MORE TIFS!!!
