Arkansas reports 27 COVID-19 deaths

Governor Asa Hutchinson provided today's update on Arkansas's COVID-19 response.

In its Friday update, the Arkansas Department of Health reported 2,878 new cases; 22,392 active cases; 1,073 hospitalized, which is down 11 from Thursday; 181 on ventilators, which is down 7 from Thursday; deaths added today, 27, for a total of 3,139; a total of 197,421 cases; 147,953 recoveries; PCR tests, 13,816; antigen tests, 5,262.








The Health Department reported that the top counties for new cases are Pulaski, 355; Washington, 237; Benton, 230; Craighead, 118; and Pope 109.

Governor Hutchinson released the following statement on today’s COVID-19 numbers:

“The 19,000 plus COVID-19 tests reported today are a record high. There continues to be a high level of spread throughout our communities, in both highly-populated areas and more rural areas. We must remain diligent over the weekend and not relax in following the public health guidelines."
