The Newton County Health Department reported two COVID-19 deaths today, bringing the county's total to 57.
The victims were a woman in her 80s and a man in his 90s.
Nineteen new cases were confirmed in the past 24 hours, according to statistics posted this afternoon on the department's Facebook page, with an additional 37 confirmed the previous day.
Newton County has recorded 3,486 cases, with 433 currently in isolation, down from 453 the previous day and 22 people hospitalized a decrease of three from Thursday.
The statistics do not include the portion of Newton County that is located in the Joplin city limits.
