During a special meeting today, the Joplin R-8 Board of Education unanimously approved a memorandum of understanding with Missouri Southern State University to participate in the MOSO CAPS program.Under the agreement, the district will have 12 students enroll in the program, which has students taking classes at the university and participating in internships with area businesses and agencies. The cost will be $29,976.
If more students are able to participate, the cost will be pro-rated.
The board rejected MOSO CAPS on two prior occasions, but the makeup of the board changed with the election of three new members earlier this month.
