Marda Schroeder, Matthew Robertson and Veronica Scheurich were sworn in as Joplin R-8 Board of Education members Tuesday night.
They replace Jeff Koch and Derek Gander, who were unsuccessful in their re-election bids, and Brent Jordan, who did not run.
Following the swearing-in ceremony, the board elected Rylee Hartwell as president and Donnie Greenlee as vice president.

My God, did anyone see this? What in God's name is wrong with this district? Who is this Hartwell kid and how the hell is he the president of anything? This is a must watch. At somewhere around the 2 hr mark, this becomes a complete clusterf***. No one seems to have a clue what is going on or how to even make a motion!? They have to stop and call MSBA late in the evening because they don't even know how to conduct a meeting. This is totally embarrassing. It was the most ill-prepared I have ever seen any board be to conduct board business. How do these kids and patrons feel about tonight and the future of their education after watching this debacle? A 25 year old clueless clown leading this mess??? Wow, just wow.
