Randi Barkley named dean of students at Stapleton Elementary

(From Joplin Schools)

Please help us welcome Mrs. Randi Barkley as Dean of Students at Stapleton Elementary for the 2023-24 academic year!

Randi has been a Joplin Schools staff member since 2014 and has taught in first and fourth grade classrooms at Irving Elementary. Dean of Students is a new position at Stapleton, created to assist with typical administrative duties, work on school improvement strategies with building staff, and receive instruction from the building principal in support of furthering administrative skills.

We're excited for Randi to bring her leadership and relational skills to join the Stapleton team as she begins working with their students, staff, and families.

Why do you think they waited until after the board changed over to bring these changes? You can expect many more changes that take us back to where we were with the bloated admin of the Huff board! Rubber stamp for Kerry!!

One of things that our Schools and our Government have continually Failed to Realize is that they keep adding Layers and Layers of Administrative Jobs and what we need are Qualified Teachers / Technology / Curriculum to help our Children thrive and survive in the 21st Century. We are in a Global Marketplace / Society - and we most be Competitive / Educated for the United States to be a World Leader again. Along those same lines we must Provide our Children a Safe / Secure Place to go to School and Thrive - -

Plus in a Recent Study - by US & WORLD ECONOMIES - U.S. Education Rankings Are Falling Behind the Rest of the World.

The U.S. placed 11th out of 79 countries in science when testing was last administered in 2018. The top five math-scoring countries in 2018 were all in Asia.

Our Great Education System was once the Envy of the World - - but we have got bogged down in our Schools by Layers of Administration / Politics - and we are not Focusing on Providing the Best Education for our Future Generations.

The U.S. ranks toward the bottom of the industrialized nations on international tests of academic achievement in science and mathematics. Not only may American schools perform worse but they may do so at the same time as they use more resources than other school systems.

Since the Overall U.S. Education System has Fallen behind the rest of the World where does the State of Missouri Rank in the U.S.???

Academic Performance Rank - 16
Safety Rank - 34
Community Rank - 35
Academic Investment Rank - 45
Class Size and Attendance Rank - 15
Overall Rank - 26
