A Noel man who pleaded guilty in January to sexually abusing a 7-year-old Duenweg girl, is scheduled to be sentenced Monday in Jasper County Circuit Court.
Jeremy Robertson, 31, a Carthage resident at the time the crime was committed, pleaded guilty under an agreement with the Jasper County Prosecuting Attorney's office that reduced the charges against him from statutory sodomy and first degree child molestation to endangering the welfare of a child in the first degree.
Under the terms of the agreement, the prosecuting attorney's office would not oppose Robertson's inclusion in a program for sexual offenders, which could result in his serving only four months.
Robertson was arrested in February 2022 following an investigation by the Missouri State Highway Patrol and the Duenweg Police Department. According to the probable cause affidavit, the girl described Robertson's molestation and said he had told her not to say anything to her mom. Another child had also witnessed what Robertson was doing.
Judge Gayle Crane, who will preside at the sentencing, does not have to accept the agreement.

The Prosecuting Attorney - Should be ASHAMED and FIRED - they are Hired to Serve and Represent the People of their Communities. Anyone who Molests any Children should not be given a SLAP on the Wrist - - Why would you allow this Criminal to Walk Away from such a Terrible Crime.
Hopefully Judge Crane - will threw this Plea Bargain Out and Serve Justice for this Criminal and Victim - - This is probably not the First Time - Jeremy Robertson - has committed this Crime - This is probably the First Time he has been Caught - and a Slap on the Wrist - is Not Justice for this Victim!!!
We have Got to Stop Feeling Sorry for the Criminals and Start Feeling Sorry for the Victims.

Nice to see that this child is young enough no one is asking what she was wearing. Keep that energy for the teens and adults, too.
I’ve said this before and I’ll say it again, Jasper county prosecutors are lazy and don’t do their job. They are more interested in clearing the case load than justice. This is why we see these headlines over and over.
The prosecutor knows this guy didn’t just wake up and decide to do this to just this one girl, there are statistics showing how many times an offender probably offended and the powers that be are fully aware. They just don’t care. Looking at you Theresa Kenney.
