Bond revoked for Neosho man charged with Dollar General robberies

Bond was revoked today for a Neosho man charged with robberies at two Newton County Dollar General stories.

Newton County Prosecuting Attorney William P. Lynch filed to a motion to reconsider the bond for Richard Mark Hatfield, 62, after Hatfield was initially released on his own recognizance with the stipulations that he stay away from Dollar General stores and get treatment at the Ozark Center.

In his motion, Lynch said the bond "should be reconsidered and the Defendant should be remanded into custody for the protection of the community at large."

According to probable cause statements, Hatfield chose Dollar General stores that were about to close and had women working because "he was afraid a male might fight back."

Hatfield allegedly robbed the Dollar General at 12023 K Highway November 19 and the store in Racine November 21.

He was arrested Thursday, while allegedly planning to rob the Granby Dollar General store.
