Carl Junction woman cited for DWI after allegedly sleeping in middle of road with foot on brake and car in drive

A Carl Junction woman is free after posting $1,500 bond after being arrested on a felony charge of driving while intoxicated.

The initial court appearance for Marlena Sue Hall (DOB 1978) is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. January 8 in Jasper County Circuit Court.

Hall was arrested Sunday after a Jasper County deputy was dispatched to Cedar Road and County Road 130 where a vehicle was sitting in the middle of the road.

According to the probable cause statement, the vehicle was still running and Hall was inside and unresponsive:

I observed her foot pushing down on the brake and the vehicle was still in drive.

The deputy was able to put the car into park and wake up Hall, the statement said.

The DWI arrest was the third for Hall, who was convicted in Cherokee County, Kansas in 2013 and in 2010 in Carl Junction.
