Joplin man sentenced to eight years on meth trafficking, weapons charges

 

A Joplin man was sentenced to eight years in prison today during a hearing in U. S. District Court in Springfield.

Travis Hurlbert, 33, pleaded guilty December 27, 2022 to methamphetamine trafficking and possession of a firearm in furtherance of drug trafficking.

Judge Beth Phillips sentenced Hurlbert to three years on the drug charge and five years on the weapons charge with the sentences to run consecutively.







When his sentence is completed, he will be on supervised release for three years on each count to run concurrently.

The Joplin Police Department arrested Hurlbert July 21, 2022, according to court records.
