Joplin man sentenced to life in prison for murdering 17-year-old daughter


A Joplin man was sentenced to life in prison for second degree murder during a hearing today in Jasper County Circuit Court.

Judge David Mouton  also sentenced Todd John Mayes, 61, to 15 years for armed criminal action with the sentences to run consecutively.

Mayes shot and killed his daughter January 9, 2022, after she threw a bottle at him during an argument.

Thank Goodness they got this Crazy Manson Looking Character - Todd John Mayes - off the Streets. It is sad that his 17-Year Old Daughter was killed in this Family Domestic Issue -

People keep saying things like "When guns are outlawed only the outlaws will have guns" and "If I need to protect my family from the criminals I'll be there with my gun and I'll be ready"

and this must be another of the not so rare exceptions where the criminal was living in the house and the criminal did use his gun.




The problem isn't how these folks look,

it's that these folks aren't right and they have their guns and they use them.
