(From Stotts City Mayor Tracy Knight)Mayor Tracy Knight is notifying residents that a Special Meeting of the Board of Aldermen has been scheduled for Thursday, July 2, 2026, at 12:00 p.m. at the Stotts City Fire Department.
The Special Meeting was requested through written requests submitted to the City Clerk by two members of the Board of Aldermen. The meeting has been publicly noticed in accordance with the City’s posted meeting notice.
According to the posted agenda, the meeting will consist of a call to order, roll call, a motion to enter closed session pursuant to Section 610.021(1), RSMo, to receive legal advice, followed by reopening the meeting and adjournment. No additional items of public business are identified on the posted agenda.
Mayor Knight stated:
“I respect the legal process through which special meetings may be requested and appreciate that this meeting provides an opportunity for the Board to receive legal counsel. My commitment remains focused on restoring effective municipal government through transparency, accountability, and compliance with Missouri law. I will continue working cooperatively with the Board of Aldermen while advocating for the implementation of the Missouri State Auditor’s recommendations and the responsible conduct of City business.”
Mayor Knight also encourages residents to remain engaged by reviewing official meeting notices and agendas and attending the open portions of public meetings whenever possible.
“An informed and engaged community is essential to preserving public trust and ensuring that local government remains accountable to the citizens it serves,” Knight said.
The Office of the Mayor remains committed to providing residents with timely, accurate, and factual information regarding City operations and official actions as Stotts City continues its efforts to strengthen governance and move forward.
