Proposed bill would affect Hunter's side job

Rep. Steve Hunter's job as a membership recruiter for the lobbying organization Associated Industries of Missouri would be affected by legislation proposed by Sen. Chuck Graham, D-Columbia.
SB 219 would prohibit the governor, lieutenant governor, attorney general, secretary of state, treasurer, auditor, and members of the General Assembly from being employed as lobbyists or working for lobbying firms.
Hunter not only works for Associated Industries of Missouri, but has proposed anti-union legislation which would benefit the group, and just this week he was reappointed chairman of the House Workforce Development and Workplace Safety Committee, which handles legislation that can benefit the lobbying organization's clients.
Of course, Graham's status as a Democrat in a Republican-controlled legislature would make it seem unlikely that this legislation has any chance of success.
