Carthage Press, Neosho Daily News to add TV Guide articles, listings to websites

The Carthage Press, Neosho Daily News, Pittsburg Morning Sun and other GateHouse Media websites will soon add TV Guide listings. The announcement of more non-local content comes at a time when GateHouse has cut its local staffs to their lowest levels ever. The GateHouse news release is printed below.

GateHouse Media, Inc. ("GateHouse Media") has selected TVGuide.com to distribute celebrity and breaking entertainment news, as well as provide links to TV listings and celebrity photos, to its national network of websites.
GateHouse Media sites will display TVGuide.com's original content on celebrities, TV, movies and more, including awards show coverage, seasonal TV previews and updates on competitions like "Dancing With the Stars" and "American Idol," on its entertainment sections.
"We're excited to be working with TVGuide.com," said David Arkin, Vice President of Content & Audience for GateHouse Media. "The company brings a trusted name and brand to our websites' entertainment coverage, which we know readers love, and provides targeted advertising opportunities for our advertisers in this important category."
"TVGuide.com delivers industry-leading coverage of the biggest stories in TV and entertainment," said Christy Tanner, Executive Vice President and General Manager of TVGuide.com and TV Guide Mobile. "GateHouse Media will expand the reach of our editorial content, which currently hits more than 25 million unique users online and 8 million mobile customers."
This is GateHouse Media's third recent major content announcement. The Company previously signed agreements with The Street to distribute business content on its sites and Bleacher Report to distribute sports news.

This is pretty much in keeping with the general dummying down of America.
