Ethics Commission report shows Lynda Banwart committee terminated

No explanation is given or any documents shown, but the Missouri Ethics Commission website shows that the Lynda Banwart for School Board Committee has been terminated only one day after its statement of organization was filed.

Other than the statement of organization, the committee's only filing had been a 48-hour report indicating Mrs. Banwart's husband, Dr. J. Christopher Banwart, had contributed $13,400 to his wife's campaign.

The Joplin Progress Committee has also reported giving $1,000 to the Banwart campaign.

I hope this means she is stepping out of what is going to be an ugly race. I would not have voted for Mrs. Banwart since she supported Huff, but I hated to see her get mixed up in this. She is a nice person, but is sadly misguided if she thinks Huff is on the right track. Wise choice, if that is what she is doing, to drop out.

I have known Lynda for years - she is a true class act and is independent enough to vote to her own conscience, regardless of what Dr. Huff wants. I would have voted for her but actually would be relieved if she pulled out of the race. I hate to see her subjected to the ugly comments on here from people who don't know her.
