Online Greene County Circuit Court documents indicate that Wood, whose defense has been paid for by the taxpayers despite his having a $1 million trust fund, has hired high profile Kansas City lawyer Patrick Berrigan.
Wood, 45, is charged with first degree murder, kidnapping, and armed criminal action, in connection with the February 18 death of 10-year-old Hailey Owens.
